Welcome to the Festival of Britain Society's web site. We hope that you will enjoy exploring the following pages, and will gain some insight into why we are keeping the memory of the events of 1951 alive. The Festival of Britain Society was formed in the late 1980s and since then has attracted a lot of members - some of whom were actively involved with the Festival itself. The Society has also been of help in sourcing material for exhibitions, radio and television programmes, and press articles. |

| If you were there, or if you are trying to find out more about the Festival then this website should point you in the right direction. Obviously we cannot put all of the information held in our archives on the web so we are gradually collating the vast amount of material kept by the Society and its members. If you can't find the information you require please contact our archives with you enquiry. This website is developing on-line so some links will not work and some pages are not complete. Please be patient as every few weeks new pages will appear giving more information about various aspects of the Festival, both nationally and regionally. With so many items and pictures to photograph and scan, the development of the site is expected to be on-going. If you would like to be kept up to date with progress either add the site to your favourites or email the webmaster who will keep you informed of updates. |
